That’s the image at top of this article.įreeCAD is an open source CAD package similar to SolidWorks, and it did the trick. Unfortunately, SW lost the curves in the process, we just had straight vectors connecting the points. We imported the SVG into SolidWorks and built a 3D model by extruding the design into the 3rd dimension. The online service VectorMagic did the job - upload the JPG to their site, download a resulting SVG 2D vector file. A program like Adobe Illustrator is designed to do that, but we don’t have a copy of AI, and couldn’t find a similar freeware app which worked well. The first step is to convert the JPG image logo into a vector graphic.
